Jessica A. Green Appointed Interim Hearing Master for the Las Vegas Municipal Court

Jessica A. GreenJessica A. Green, a Partner of the Lipson Neilson law firm, has been appointed Interim Hearing Master for the Las Vegas Municipal Court’s Department 20 and will also be presiding over Fresh Start, a specialty court for homeless and indigent defendants.

In her capacity as Interim Hearing Master, Ms. Green will hear all matters in Department 20 from inception to handling post-plea matters, including arraignments, trials, and sentencing. Ms. Green will hear and rule on various motions including motions to quash, motions to exonerate bonds, and bond forfeitures.

Ms. Green will listen to and work with homeless and indigent defendants, connect them with community resources for housing, nutrition, substance abuse, mental health, and medical condition treatment, and determine a path forward for them.

Ms. Green’s comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and local laws, relevant case law, methods and techniques of legal research and investigation, and judicial procedure and rules of evidence were all taken into consideration in qualifying for the position. Ms. Green has previously served as a Las Vegas Municipal Court Alternate Judge.

Ms. Green’s law practice at Lipson Neilson focuses primarily on professional liability defense and employment law. She represents and counsel attorney clients in conjunction with State Bar of Nevada bar complaints, ethical issues, suspensions and disbarments, and fee disputes before the Northern and Southern Nevada Disciplinary Boards from grievance through trial.

Ms. Green represents Nevada employers – both large and small – in employment related litigation in both state and federal courts as well as before federal and state administrative agencies. She has experience defending against a wide array of claims including wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, and wage and hour violations. She also advises and counsels employers on various workplace issues including employee discipline and termination, drug testing, the prevention and proper handling of discrimination and harassment, wage and hour compliance, and workplace investigations.
